Open call for stories of the weird, macabre, darkly comedic, horrific and uncanny. Submission date from April 1 to May 15.
We're big fans of horror and weird fiction maestros like Lovecraft, du Maurier and Kafka. An intriguing paranormal romance, a good adventure with "strange" or "uncanny" theme, sci-fi horror, ironic dark comedy can also push our happy buttons.

We operate on a non-profit basis, with Anthology proceeds going toward a professional website for authors and readers, and other business expenses.
Contest winners receive an honorarium of $2 CDN via Paypal; a free ebook version of the Anthology; a bio and link in the publication; a reading and/or free promotion on the Strange Vibes podcast; and international gloating rights.

How to Enter
Word Count: 2000 - 5000
Send your story to sylviakayrose@gmail.com with the word "Submission" in the subject line. In the body of your email include your publishing name, bio (under 100 words), website link, and a contact email. Personal info, like email address, is for correspondence between us only, and will not be published or shared.
Include your Paypal account email to get your $2 CDN. We pay on publication.
Attach your submission to the email. Accepted formats: .odt, .txt, .rtf, doc, docx.
Style: We're not too picky about how you style your manuscript, as long as it's readable and in digital format.
A few hints:
Avoid using tabs - we have to take them out one by one and it's annoying. Format your indents if possible.
Say it with a slant - please use italics to indicate emphasis.
We don't require First Publication Rights; however, please indicate if your submission is a reprint. We ask for 1 month's exclusivity.
No multiple submissions. Simultaneous submissions ok, but let us know if your story is accepted elsewhere.
If your work is chosen for the Strange Vibes Anthology, you'll receive a confirmation email within 2-3 weeks after the submission deadline. Selected authors will be asked to sign an agreement granting publishing and promotional rights to the publisher.
Editing: you grant us permission to fix minor errors (typos) or formatting of your work. Note, we ARE the Grammar Police. A submission riddled with spelling and grammatical errors, unless these are integral to the plot, dialogue or writing style, is a major literary offense. Please edit your work carefully.
