There are plenty of short story contests and competitions for authors of all genres. At ScribeVibes we've curated three you can enter regularly for free. Writing short stories is a terrific way to hone skills, and hey! you might just win.
Pays $100 + part of subscription proceeds.
Story length: 6 words - 10,000 words.
Genre: Any.
Deadline: End of the month.
One winner is chosen from among the entries, and announced on the 15th of the following month.
Pays token $5 American per accepted submission.
Accepts stories up to 4,000 words (query for longer), as well as poetry and art.
Genre: Any dark fiction.
Deadline: 25th of the month.
Winners will be notified. The mag is published in both print and online formats.
Pays in copies (free book).
Stories must be 53 words. Hyphenated words count as one.
Genre: Any
Deadline: 15th of the month.
